Operations & Support Services for Residents & Community Members During the Covid-19 Emergency
On behalf of the entire Hope Communities organization, we hope that you, your family and loved ones are healthy and taking all recommended precautions concerning the Coronavirus outbreak. We have taken multiple measures to reduce risk at our properties, and in the Hope administrative building, while still providing high-quality service to you. Effective Wednesday March 18th, our leasing, property manager and program offices will limit face-to-face meetings and visitations to the office in order to comply with the CDC rules for social distancing. We ask that if you do schedule an in-person meeting that you stop at the door and use the hand sanitizers and wipes that are available as you enter the office. We will be following the protocol of the COVID-19 Recommendations of The Colorado Department of Public Health. We remain committed to our mission to provide safe housing and pathways to economic and personal opportunity for all our residents and members of the communities we serve. Hope Communities continues to offer resources navigation and support services at its Hidden Brook and Gardens locations. Phone numbers and emails for staff are posted on office doors. At this time, you may schedule time with a member of the program team to meet in-person, via phone or to schedule a video conference call. Building Maintenance & Operations
Staff are always happy to support you by answering questions and helping with other housing issues over the phone (see numbers below). Our maintenance department will be responding to emergency calls only and will stay on that schedule until we have determined that the risk has lessened. Rent & Financial Support (Updated 3/24/20)
We know this is a stressful time for many and the added concern that the economic impact of business closures and social distancing efforts will have on our community. Hope Communities is working to secure resources and additional financial support. We will continue to share resources as soon as we learn about them. Hope will work with residents who are unable to pay rent due to the current crisis. There will be no rent increases or late fees assessed, or evictions due to lack of payment for those affected by the virus during this time of crisis. Residents will be asked to share evidence that they have lost work or are otherwise affected by the virus to receive leniency on timing of their payment and will be asked to pursue other resources to fulfill their responsibility to pay. They will be given guidance to apply for reduced payments, due to lower income, if they have subsidized housing. And, we will help people, as appropriate to apply for unemployment and other benefits to help sustain them. We have been and will continue to identify resources for those losing work. Staff will post flyers with information and we will continue to share information on our website as well as through our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn). For immediate emergency and utility assistance, Denver’s Department of Housing Stability has published a helpful list of housing resources in ten different languages. Follow this link for information in English, Amharic, Burmese, Dari, Farsi, French, Karen, Karenni, Rohingya, and Swahili. Scholly, an online student success platform, has announced the Scholly COVID-19 Student Relief Fund, aimed at providing cash assistance to financially burdened students, parents of students, and graduates during this unprecedented crisis. Applicants who are approved will receive a one-time cash payment of $200. You can apply on Scholly’s website.
Denver Public Schools will offer free breakfast and lunch meals to students and their families at 12 locations throughout the city, weekdays from Monday, March 16 through Friday, April 3. Food will only be available in grab-and-go packaging to avoid congregating. To prioritize social distancing, families are not allowed to eat on site. DPS is not able to provide transportation for people to obtain these meals. Breakfast and lunch is also available for adults and can be picked up every weekday. In addition, weekend breakfast and lunch will be available for families to pick up every Friday. Grab-and-Go suppers are provided by the Tasty Food – Where Denver Youth Eat Free program with the City and County of Denver. These meals are for youth between the ages of 1 – 18 and available on a first-come, first-served basis at 17 Denver recreation centers, Monday – Friday, 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. No ID or registration required – just swing by, GRAB your meal … and GO! Health & Well-Being
We are working diligently and taking precautions to ensure our spaces are cleaned thoroughly and following CDC guidelines. They provide free, confidential, professional and immediate support for any mental health, substance use or emotional concern, 24/7/365.
