Meal Kits Volunteer Interest
Hope Communities often distributes meal kits to residents in need. We need volunteers throughout the year to put together the ingredients for a full meal for individuals, seniors, and families. All ingredients should be shelf-stable, and ideally would come with a $10 Walmart or King Soopers gift card to buy fresh ingredients, but this is not required. Meals should include diverse sources of nutrition (grains, protein, and produce). You can make as many meal kits as you would like, and they can be made individually or in groups.
Meal Kit Suggestions:
Spaghetti: Box of pasta, jar of spaghetti sauce, parmesan cheese, garlic bread
Tuna Casserole: Canned tuna, box of egg noodles, cream of celery or mushroom soup, crackers
Breakfast in a bag: Pancake mix, shelf-stable bacon, juice, syrup
Pizza: Jar of pizza sauce, shelf-stable shredded cheese, shelf-stable toppings, crust
Please note that meal kits need to be dropped off either to our office at 2543 California Street, or our property at 4919 E Thrill Place in Denver during business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm). If you cannot drop off during these times, please reach out to us and we will work with you. If you are interested in coordinating drop off, please fill out the below form, and our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch.
