Community Building

At Hope Communities, we believe communities are healthier, safer, and more prosperous when we know our neighbors. We provide valuable opportunities for residents to build relationships with each other, strengthen bonds with others in the neighborhood and contribute meaningfully to their community.

Hope promotes resident participation and community interaction through on-site programs and strong neighborhood alliances. We facilitate annual block parties and resident community councils, and host quarterly safety meetings with the Denver Police Department and in partnership with valued community partners such as East Colfax Community Collaborative and Spring Institute. Starting in 2022, the work with police, 911 & the city went much father – delving into significant flaws in the emergency response, public safety infrastructure, and responsiveness of the key agencies driving community safety.

Community Managers work with Program staff to implement quarterly events that bring the community together – potlucks, movie nights, pool parties, and more.

We also encourage and facilitate ways for residents to learn about and participate in local civic opportunities.
