On Thursday, September 26, 2019, Hope Communities celebrated Hope for the Future, our annual fundraising event. More than 120 people gathered at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park to learn about the impact Hope Communities has had over the past year. A short video, presented at the event, highlights the organization’s accomplishments.
Inspired by the stories of a resident and a community partner, party-goers mingled with one another, enjoyed sumptuous food and drink, and bid generously for treasures in a silent auction. We are grateful to all attendees for their support of Hope Communities and our mission to strengthen communities and provide pathways to economic and personal opportunity through affordable housing, educational programs and support services.
We were pleased to welcome Romaine Pacheco, director of boards and commissions for the City and County of Denver, who presented a letter from Mayor Michael B. Hancock. In it, Mayor Hancock thanked and congratulated Hope Communities for our accomplishments and the role we continue to play in making Denver a more equitable city.
Another highlight of the evening was a performance by the legendary Hazel Miller and her band. We cannot thank her enough for her friendship and generosity.
