Afghan Resettlement: Hope’s Role

Hope Communities has made it a priority to invest in Community Navigators who assist Refugees to become acquainted with American customs and systems during their first 5 years in the United States. The Navigators possess language and cultural sensitivities that are tailored specifically to the needs of incoming clients.
Because of the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, we have been working to increase our capacity to assist that group, specifically.

When Humanitarian Parolees began arriving in Colorado in early September, we were truly shocked at just how unprepared the system was to handle the influx. Our Afghan Navigator has been in the middle of it all, responding to issues such as mental health crisis, food insecurity and basic needs procurement.

Summer Camp ’21

We were fortunate to be able to return to in-person Summer Camp with kids from The Gardens and Hidden Brook, observing all CDC safety recommendations for doing so. Adventures were centered on education and continuing lessons from the previous school year, while getting ready for the next!

Our Annual Report is published! We want to make sure you have a chance to review it. Hope achieved so much in helping vulnerable families throughout the year.

Food Distributions

We were able to continue bi-weekly food distribution with the incredible help of dedicated volunteers and several grants from foundations and some private donors. This life-saving service can only continue with continued outside support. Read on to find out about our past program and for ways to help out in the future!
